Q: Hi, I am a 36-year-old double mastectomy patient with 600cc implants. I have never felt the same with these implants. Hoping my natural tissue would be more accepted by my body. We fight so hard for our health, this is so hard on me. I am young, I surf and am active. However, I feel fatigued and inflamed. I want my health back. Please help.
A: Hi, I’m very sorry you are having problems, but we would be delighted to help you. While we cannot make guarantees, I can honestly say that every time we have removed implants and reconstructed patients with their own natural tissue instead, they have been very pleased. As you know, there is always an “awareness” that the implants are in place, but patients reconstructed with their own tissue are usually able at some point to truly put the whole issue of breast cancer and reconstruction behind them.
