We’re available to discuss all breast reconstruction options available to you and help you make a smart, informed decision. One of our clinical staff members is in the office Monday through Friday and our surgeons are known to personally answer any questions sent through the “Ask the Doctor” feature on our website and blog within 48 hours.

Many of our patients reside outside of our area so we have developed the below plan to limit the number of trips you would need to make to our area.

    Should you decide to have surgery with our team we proceed to help you choose a date and your surgical plan. We send you information and orders for your physicians at home that allow you to undergo most of your preoperative testing in your hometown.

    If you have not had mastectomy yet, we coordinate with our trusted team of breast surgeons to arrange for them to assume that portion of your care while you are here.   You’ll have a consultation visit with them when you arrive in town.

    Our administrative team will take care of all pre-certification, pre-determination, check your insurance benefits, and give you an estimate of your expenses for surgery.  We are in-network with most major insurers and only utilize facilities (hospital, imaging, breast surgeon) that are in-network as well.   On the rare occasion we are out of network with your insurance, we’ll contact them on your behalf and see if we can be granted an exception for you to utilize our services.

    Next, you’ll receive a surgical booklet that outlines all of the appointment dates and times that you will have once your surgery date is established.  In general, we ask that you plan to arrive in our area 1 to 2 days in advance as you will need to have a pre-operative MRA, pre-op marking appointment and consultation with our surgeon, an appointment with a breast surgeon if needed, and pre-admission visit at the hospital of choice.

    Expect a 3 to 4 night stay as an inpatient in the hospital.  No ICU needed, you’ll be on a women’s service floor in an area specifically designed for our breast flap patients and cared for by a dedicated team of nurses who specialize in post-operative breast reconstruction.
