So can we all agree that 2020 was nothing like we expected? 2020 has definitely been filled with uncertainty and change, yet we have still been working hard for our patients here at the Center for Natural Breast Reconstruction (CNBR).

We have continued to provide information, celebrate women, and deliver hope, but we’ve just had to get a little creative to do so!

Technology has really become the name of the game in 2020, and we have found new ways to stay connected and spread knowledge about breast reconstruction options. Our Facebook page has always been a great way to interact with current and potential patients, and we have been able to use social media this year to continue building these relationships. We post videos, testimonials, and educational posts every week to help women make smart, informed decisions about their care.

We also strengthened our relationship with other organizations to deliver more information about breast reconstruction. Along with Terri Coutee of DIEPC Foundation, we have been creating educational videos about innovative procedures we offer, such as ReSensation™ and DIEP flap delay

We had the pleasure of partnering with Komen South Carolina in October to celebrate breast cancer survivors and educate women about their risks during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While we couldn’t all walk together this year, the CNBR sponsored and participated in the first-ever Virtual MORE THAN PINK Walk.

October 17th was an important day for us too! Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day (BRA Day USA) was a full-day event where we shared informational posts on our blog and Facebook page every hour to allow women to connect with us and empower themselves through knowledge about their reconstruction options.

Our surgeons, Dr. Kline and Dr. Craigie received some well-deserved recognition this year as well! These two were interviewed by DIEPC Foundation, ABC and FOX news outlets to provide educational programming about natural breast reconstruction and innovative procedures to the public.

In our office, we have been fortunate to keep every one of our staff working throughout this year and provided continuous care for our patients. Thankfully, we were only unable to schedule elective surgery for just a few weeks and resumed April 21at our full schedule. In addition to in-office medical care, we now routinely conduct Telemedicine visits to effectively and safely serve our patients who must travel to us to access state-of-the-art microsurgical breast reconstruction procedures.

Our mission at the CNBR is to restore the well-being of the women we support, and we have been so lucky to continue to do this with little interruption during 2020. We are unsure of what next year will bring, but we know we will continue to provide excellent care, innovation, and education to all who seek our help.

COVID-19 UPDATE: The Center for Natural Breast Reconstruction values the health and safety of our patients.
